Melbourne Money Exchange
Is there somewhere you can recommend that might have a better exchange rate to change AUD to USD in Melbourne? (We’ll be staying in South Melbourne.)
Thanks!
PS. I'm having a fabulous trip--thanks to advice I got on this forum. Report to follow ...

We haven't exchanged money in Melbourne for some time, we usually get money out of the ATM once we arrive in a country, but you could try Travelex

According to the website there is one inside the HSBC bank at 265 Clarendon St, South Melbourne. There are a few in the city and at Melbourne airport.

There were several banks in a row that offered this service. The rates were very similar, but we saved about twenty dollars by shopping around. FYI, the rates were not much worse at the airport.

Toucan2: Before Brisbane we stayed at Clandulla Cottage--a farm stay in Boyland, near Mt. Tamborine in the hinterlands. OMG, it was heaven. They had a baby wallaroo that sleeps in bed with the owners, and gets bottle fed every two hours. I LOVED cuddling her and giving her a bottle.
After Brisbane we went to the Sunshine Coast and stayed at the Australis Resort in Tewantin--a few minutes from Noosa. We saw some GORGEOUS sights in Australia.
I'm currently in New Zealand. Don't know when I'll get to post my trip report--but it's on the way ;-).
