Hidden Gems in Melbourne

Hi All! I just got back from a trip to Australia and found some great hidden gems in Melbourne. It's a city that everyone says you have to know to get the most out of, and I think that's true. I found some great cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and shopping arcades, and particularly enjoyed Brother Baba Budan for coffee and laneways like Degraves Street.

If you want to read more and see photos, I wrote about it on my blog: http://www.aladyinlondon.com/2013/03...ia-travel.html

Happy Travels!

Great blog. We are in the process of planning our trip to Australia for next year and it sounds like we need to include Melbourne and Phillip Island. Seeing wildlife is definitely one of our priorities.

That's great! I definitely recommend Melbourne as a city destination, and Phillip Island is a great day trip if you like wildlife. I hope you have a great trip!

I am an ex Melbournite and love the backstreets of Melbourne. On the way to work I would love zig zagging through the streets, including Degreaves Street. Lots to see and places to dine at.

yes, thanks, ALady - very useful for our planning for our trip [hopefully] to OZ & NZ in Nov & dec '13.

DD went to Melborne last April for a week or so and liked it a lot - even though it rained a lot. I suppose that being from Cornwall it made her feel at home!
