Getting from Sydney Airport to Travelodge Hotel, Phillip Street, without a car

Help please

We arrive in Sydney Airport on Sunday next, 3rd September, at 7.00 pm. We have booked accommodation with Travelodge Hotel Phillip Street. We have arranged to hire a car when we are leaving the city a few days later so will be depending on public transport/taxi to get us to the hotel from the airport. I understand there is a shuttle service to the city, but is Phillip Street outside what is recognised as the city area? We will be carrying luggage to see us through three weeks, so should we get a taxi from the airport or maybe a bus to the central area and a taxi from there? Don't want to discover a bus takes us within 100 metres oar so of our hotel and we athen end up taking a taxi to take us for the remainder of the journey!!!! Help please.

Thank you.

Not sure where the shuttle goes but Phillip Street is right in the city so I guess you will be ok.

I took a shuttle from the airport into the city when I visited Sydney. You will not have any problems finding a shuttle at the airport ... in fact, they will probably find you.

They will deliver you right to the door of wherever you are staying and they have plenty of room for luggage in their vans so don't worry about a thing.
Just enjoy your flight and rest assured, you won't have any worries about getting to your accomodation.

If you take the shuttle from outside the arrivals hall (we used the KST Sydney Airporter), the staff at the desk or the driver will ask you where you want to go. If your at the travelodge you will be dropped off and picked up accordingly. It's simple and cheap.

Hi Irishk

We use the Travelodge in Phillip Street, as we live outside Sydney and it's very quiet, convenient and reasonable cost for overnight stays before flying out of Sydney airport.

It is most definitely within the city area - you'll be able to walk to almost any part of the city you wish, as it's part way between the harbour and the limits of the CBD.
As others have advised, airport shuttles are very thick on the ground and will happily take you there.

No problem with your luggage; that's what they are geared for! The trip may not be as quick as by taxi, as you'll be part of a city loop at several hotel drops, but that can just form part of your introduction to the city . . . we often meet up with some interesting characters on the shuttle! They do drop you right at the door of your hotel.

Happy travels, Di

You can take the airport train to St James station and walk about 50 yards to the Travelodge or change at Central onto the Bondi Junction line and get off at Martin Place Station which is almost right below the Travelodge.

The cost is $10 per person so for 2 ormore you may be better off taking a cab which shouldn't cost more than $25.00 on a Sunday night.

Phillip Street is right in the City and adjacent Martin Place which is a Pedestrian zone lined with all the banks and insurers.

It is a great area except for being a little quiet at night.
