Cairns GTG Postponed!
Hi All,
Just a quick note - we have had a few problems, some you've seen here on the site and others have contacted me via email an inability to attend. With all this in mind I have decided to opt out as well.
Margo is still heading to Cairns but for the rest it won't be happening. So I'd like to think that the GTG will just be postponed rather than cancelled.
It's a big disappointment but the reasons for doing so are compelling and cannot be helped so we all completely understand.
Perhaps we can put the call out again and come up with a mutual date?
Cheers

On the one hand I am sorry to hear that because of the planning and work which must have been done in preparation and on the other hand I am pleased as I could not attend the GTG this weekend . But I may be able to do so later in the year .
I am off to Bali on 7th to 15th June and then to Europe for 5 weeks from 24th June .
The year has been hellish so far with two family deaths in early March ,work very busy and a constant list of " to do " chores and tasks that never seems to reduce in number .
So I hope all are well and look forward to future GTG plans .
John

Hi JohnFitz,
Sorry to hear you've had such a sad beginning to the year & hope Bali's beauty & people are a balm for the soul.
I'd hoped you might be able to make the Sydney dinner but, given my druthers, I'd be Bali & Europe bound, too! Look forward to catching up with you another time.

Thanks Bokhara . It has been sad. I lost one of my older sisters to secondary breast cancer on March 11 and two weeks before her death the husband of one of her daughters died suddenly 2 days before their only child's first birthday . So you can imagine the shock to us all .
But I am lucky as these crises bring out the best in my family .
Bali was my first o's trip in 1982 and I have lost count now how many times I have been . I never tire of it.
I am speaking at a conference at the Oberoi and staying there for most of the time and Pearl Hotel ( small French family owned in Seminyak where I stayed last year for the first time )for the first 3 nights . It is like popping home as I have such a comfort zone .And the $ is so strong that I intend to have shiatsu and remedial massage daily - that tight hard neck and shoulders are going to be turned to putty by weeks end .

Hello John - I'm so very very sad to hear of your losses. I hope your trip can help you to heal. You are in my thoughts - in the meantime John I would look forward to seeing you again hopefully in the not too distant future.
