Alternative to Apex car rental
I am locked into a certain itinerary and just discovered that I cannot leave an Apex car rental at the Dunedin airport. Any other choices for a good price, realiable rental company?

Hi,
I've booked with Europcar.co.nz for my forthcoming trip in november (picking the car up in christchurch and dropping it off in Dunedin). I've used Europcar in australia and everything went fine, but never in NZ. I found the rate quite reasonable.

Europcar in NZ is operated by National, I believe.
I wasn't all that happy with the service I got from National in Dunedin. You might see if you can get a discounted rate thru an affinity link such as Costco, or an airlines website. I've liked Avis.
You can use the official tourism website to search rental cars by city. There are some other independents in Dunedin but some may be in the City rather than the airport. The Dunedin airport is quite far out of town, some may not allow you to drop there without a service fee.

I always use driveaway.com.au - have used them here in Australia as well as New Zealand, Switzerland and for the France leg of our next trip. I'm not sure how they compare but have found them very reliable.
