I would never have considered that 2ch was THE happening radio station of Sydney.

It must depend on your boredom threshold!

This is obvious advertising - which of course is NOT permitted i=on Fodors. It's also semi-literate, which is no surprise given the apparent source.

My advice to any intending visitors to Sydney is NOT to listen to 2CH or any of the other commercial radio stations, which broadcast brainless pap 24/7.

The only ones worth listening to are the national and local ABC stations on both AM and FM bands, and if you like classical music, the independent 2MBS-FM.

Perhaps I was a little harsh on the OP, who I now see has posted quite a few times on this forum. My advice as to commerical radio stations stands, though. A matter of taste, admittedly.

Don't think you were harsh at all Neil, unless 2CH has dramatically improved since I lived in Sydney.

G'teed: Hate to say it, but unless I were 150 in the shade and had 1 foot on a banana skin, I don't think 2CH would enter my lexicon of "tremendous" radio stations in Sydney. I'm not such as purist as to never listen to commercial radio ... but 2CH isn't one of them.

Listen to 702 at www.abc.net.au

2CH shudder shudder

margo_oz Mar 8th, 2008 01:48 PM

Pat - it was on in a friend's car just the other week - and it's as awful as ever.

What surprised me, though, was that I had a friend who listened to 2CH! You tend to think of your friends as being of similar tastes, interests as you. Sometimes they have other lives, apparently! Bloody boring lives - but lives! :P

I thought 2ch was a pretty relaxing station to listen to.
Obviously not to all the Sydney Guru's on this site.
Who think they are something special, and have much more sophisticated tastes.
