We considered flying in to Sydney and out of Melbourne, but changed to in and out of Sydney because we want to end in Tasmania.

It sounds like the tours in Kangaroo Island are quite expensive.

We will be in Tasmania for 5 days. Is Kangaroo Island somewhat similar to it?

We're torn between a full day in Alice Springs and 2-1/2 days in Melbourne vs. 5 hours in Alice Springs and a night a Adelaide, a night on Kangaroo Island, and a night in Adelaide (which seems a bit hectic to me). Opinions appreciated. Thanks.

We spent 5 days in tasmania and were sorry we didn't have more time there is a wonderful opportunity to see fairy penguins at Bicheno near Freycinet NP. a very low key small group flashlight tour. We enjoyed staying at the Old Tram Car B&B I think it was called
