Windstar Cruises
 

Has anyone done this cruise to all the islands in Tahiti? If so how did you like it?<BR>Thanks, <BR>Mike

Hi Mike, we're checking into the same cruise for Summer 2003, I'll be anxious to see the replies you get. From what I've found out, Windstar wasn't cruising Tahiti for the past year or two, they just resumed that route this past spring. So we may not hear anything for awhile, unless it's from a cruiser from a couple years back. Good luck, I'll pass on any info I get. Tina

HI MIKE,<BR><BR>DID THIS WINDSTAR CRUISE ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO WHEN WINDSTAR WAS STILL IN THIS AREA. IT WAS A WONDERFUL CRUISE EXPERIENCE. THE SHIP WAS GREAT WITH THAT CASUAL ATMOSPHERE AND OFFERED GOOD ACCOMMODATIONS AND FOOD. A VERY RELAXING EXPERIENCE. THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER WAYS TO EXPERIENCE THESE BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS . A NOTE OF CAUTION. WE SAILED ON THE SAME SHIP A FEW YEARS BACK IN COSTA RICA AND WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CRUISE. THE SHIP WAS NOT IN THE SAME PRISTINE CONDITION AS IT HAD BEEN, NOR WAS THE FOOD OF THE SAME HIGH QUALITY. BECAUSE OF THIS EXPERIENCE WE ARE VERY HESITANT TO SAIL WITH WINDSTAR AGAIN. THERE RESPONSE TO OUR CRITICISM WAS UNSATISFACTORY AND WE WERE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE ONBOARD THAT HAD VALID COMPLAINTS. CHECK TO SEE IF THE SHIP HAS BEEN RENOVATED AT ALL IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. ANOTHER OPTION WOULD BE A SIMILAR CRUISE ON BOARD THE RADISSONS PAUL GAUGAIN. THIS WOULD BE MY CHOICE IF DOING ANOTHER CRUISE IN THIS AREA.

IT WILL BE GREAT! A FRIEND JUST RETURNED FROM THAT SAME CRUISE AND SHE LOVED IT!!! SHE HAS BEEN ON SEVERAL OTHER CRUISES AND THOUGHT THE FOOD WAS GREAT, THEY KNOW YOU BY NAME AND WHAT YOUE FAVORITE DRINK IS BY THE 2ND DAY. She said the sports platform off of the back of the boat was a blast, and she scuba dives and all their gear would be all laid out for them each morning. She thought the ship was nice and liked the smaller number of travelers on it. We are going on it next year with a group because it sounds great and we have all been on other cruises and land vacations.<BR><BR>She said the food and drinks on the island were mediocre and expensive $60. for 4 drinks. But the islands were wonderful with friendly people.<BR><BR>Have fun.<BR>
