Where to search for New Zealand airfares?
 

I would like to find out where to search. I went to air New Zealand but had trouble. Orbitz and Side Step don't have Air New Zealand. Trying to find other messages on this forum as I imagine this gets asked frequently but anyone know good sites where I can search online and not have to wait for a reps response. What kind of stop overs can I factor in without to hefty of an add on in fare, cook islands? Fiji? Can't afford Tahiti or Polynesia.

Hi Fiona<BR><BR>Air New Zealand is having a fare sale right now (they send me e-mails when a sale starts) and it should be going on for awhile. The rates were from Calif. but were approx. $900 for Oct to 1200 for Feb. I believe that Qantas is also having a sale. If you do a search for Abel Tasman travel or Anzac Travel you might find some decent prices as they're pretty large and we have used them this year. Good luck with your plans - you'll absolutely love it there!! If you can tho - go to Australia too!!!

Thanks Patti I only have a month and I would like to scrap by on as little as possible staying in hostiles and basically doing the vagabon tour. Wouldn't Sidney be expensive?

Hi again Fiona<BR><BR>I don't know how expensive Sydney would be but I would imagine there's all priced lodging there including hostels. We saw and met a number of backpackers while we were in Sydney and prhaps someone who knows more about hostels will give some advice on that. Needitnow.com.au gives pretty good rates on last minutes hotels in all areas of Australia and NZ and we used that often. Sydney is such a beautiful, friendly city that hopefully you'll get to see it.
