WHERE TO LOAD DIGITAL PICS ONTO CDs
 

Are there many camera/drugstores where you can download your digital pictures onto CDs? I really hate to buy alot of expensive memory sticks for my camera. Here in the US, it is pretty easy to locate a spot to do this quickly. Thanks.

I would also be interested to know if anyone who has visited Broome lately noticed if there was somewhere to download digital photos?

When we were on the east coast of Oz during christmas and new year last, we found that there were enough camera shops to down load the pictures and drop them on to CD Rom for us. it cost around A$10 then.It was really easy, the only thing we found was that because our memory card was an XD type some shops didn't have the interface as it was a relitively new media. However Iam sure that they will have it now.
I guess that it will not be so different to USA.
In Melbourne we used, Photo City on 100 Bourke st. Not sure where else they are, check their site.

They were excellent and gave me a warm feeling of confidence when I handed my precious pics over to them.
Some shops didn't give me that feeling, so I walked out, but I guess thats a personal thing.

I think you can get enlargements done by e mail too.

There are lots of camera/photo shops in the main cities that will do this for you. Not so sure about remote areas. If you log on to www.whitepages.com.au and put in Kodak or Rabbit Photo or Fuji as the business name (there are lots of other companies as well) you will see where some are located.
For Broome I looked in www.yellowpages.com.au which lists by type of business and came up with Broome Camera House and Broome Photo Hut, both under 'photographic processing services'.
Also in Australia we don't have 'drugstores' as such. We have chemists or pharmacies which usually have photo processing facilities (not inhouse) but most people would go to a photo shop to get prints or download onto a CD, etc. A photo shop will typically offer 1 hour turnaround on prints but a chemist won't. We have a chain called Priceline which is about as similar to an American drugstore as I can think of. Priceline don't have instore photo processing facilities.
