Where in the world is ORD

ORD is the airport code for O'Hare Airport, Chicago. We are traveling from ORD to New Zealand in January, 2006. We'll spend one night in LA and then fly Air Tahiti Nui to Auckland and Quantas on our return flight from Sydney to Chicago. This was all done with AA mileage.

Have a wonderful trip.

Oh goodie, next time I am out of OOL I will remember I am not going to ORD.

Not to be confused with the Ord River in NW Australia, of course.

Thanks for wishing me a wonderful trip, but I already came back. Have a wonderful trip yourself, from all of us. ((R))

ORD because when built it was WAAAY out in the country and was Orchard Airport. It was renamed for some now, of course, the city has now grown up all around it and it is one continuous city up to the northwest corner where O'Hare sits. They just didn't change the airport code. By the way, if any one out there has a long layover at ORD in the summer I would recommend you take the train (Blue line) for a 45 minute, $1.75 fare to downtown and look around. BUT, anything from November to April, I would stay warm and not leave the airport!! I hope you don't have delays for deicing! Have time.
