Where best to pickup rental car in Sydney to travel to the Blue Mountains?

Traveling to Australia Sept. 2nd. Flight will arrive in Sydney around 6am, we plan on picking up our rental car and driving up to the Blue Mountains. Are we better to pick up at the airport or another location? We will be returning the rental car on the 7th and then spending several days in Sydney.

The OP is talking about Sydney, you spamming idiot!

OP - the "best" place depends when you are planning to collect the car. Presumably, if you are getting off a long-haul flight, you are not intending to step straight into a rental car & will stay the night in the CBD or elsewhere. In that case, it would make sense to rent from the CBD or William street.

If you are coming in on a domestic flight, probably just rent from the airport.

Actually we will be driving to Blue Mountains the same day we arrive. We usually have no trouble sleeping on long flights. Just didn't know if was easier getting out of Sydney from the airport or from another rental location. It is our first trip to Australia, but have driven on the left in several countries.

Right. It's an easy enough run from the airport not to warrant messing about going to William street to collect a car.

Or you could take a train to the Blue Mountains & rent a car up there.

Ach. The train requires a change and takes a LOOOOOONG time because the run to the Blue Mountains is a local. You'd best rent at the airport. Whatever savings you'd get off airport would be eaten up with transport costs to wherever you'd hire the rental.
