What to bring to wear in Western Australia this time of year?

I'm gonna be staying in Margaret River for the next couple weeks----was told it was very casual, flip-flops, tank tops, jeans, etc.....also that it's hot right now. Any suggestions?

Assuming you're a female - light summer dresses, a skirt and tank top or shorts would be good. Jeans may be a bit hot. Also bathers, a hat and sunscreen. You can get burnt very quickly in Australia. I'd bring a warm casual top for evenings, particularly if you are by the sea after the sun goes down. We liked the Wicked Ale Brewery near Margaret River, they have amazing beers like chilli and chocolate.

Forget jeans - shorts, thongs ( betta get used to our language - that is flip flops to you) tanks and anything else casual. Also as Kay said bring a warm top just in case, for the evenings.

Thanks for the info you guys! How about for going out in Sydney (may stay there for a couple days when I first arrive)----do I need to dress up more or can I wear flip-flops, shorts, tank tops, etc....to restaurants, clubs/bars, etc....?

You can get in almost anywhere in Australia in smart casual clothes. Forget the shorts and thongs if you are going to a restaurant or club - cotton pants or a skirt will look better.
