What is Brisbane like for IT positions?

Is there a demand at all in Brisbane for IT people?

Michael Jan 28th, 2000 08:48 PM

Dianne you need to define which field of IT you refer to. As a basic response if you are in one of the IT fields that has reasonable demand and you have good experience then in Sydney you have a 100% chance of getting a job quickly, in Brisbane the market is less dynamic but again a job can be obtained within a reasonable period of time remembering that Brisbane is probably the 4th largest market in Oz for IT people after Sydney/Melbourne/Adelaide.
Rgds
Michael

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your response. I am a "Help Desk Analyst" (Hardware/Software). Your e-mail was helpful. Thank's again.

Michael or anyone else... I would like to know what the salary is like in Australia for "Help Desk Analysts". Thanks.

Michael Jan 30th, 2000 06:21 PM

Generally in Oz dollars between $30K & $50K depending on the size of the organisation and the location (sydney salaries will "generally" be at least 20% higher than Brisbane in the IT field for similiar sized companies.

UH --this thread is nearly 12 years old. Loooooong before registration, so even IF this Diane is the one you are looking she doesn't post w/ that name now . . .

Really (REALLY) curious how did Brooke and hallno registered and found this thread to top . . . 22 months apart????
