Perth could be done at any time of the year, however, if going up to Broom or Darwin, Winter (April-Oct) would be better.

Wildflower season is about August to October depending on the region. West Australian wildflowers are unique in the world and can be really spectacular.

My two trips to WA have coincided with summer (January) and the weather both times has been hot but tolerable.

In Broome & up around Cape Leveque we had lovely fine days then a thunderstorm most afternoons, with heavy rain. Days were almost always fine. We hired an air cond car around Broome & our hotel was aircond so did not notice the heat too much.

Perth was warm but we cooled off down at the beaches and also hired an air cond car for day trips. Again we were not bothered by 32 degrees C days.

In Sth West Aust, around Margaret River and down to Augusta, the weather was glorious.

I don't think there's a bad time to visit WA. Many folks have complained that Dec/Jan has been too cool over there, this summer! Just go!
