Weather Sydney/Melbourne - March

What type of clothing will I take, will the weather still be warm enough for shorts and sun tops or would long trousers with Tee shirts be more appropriate. Does it get chilly in the evening.I am thinking of the equivalent of Autumn here in England

March in Melbourne is normally very pleasant - usually shorts and teeshirt weather. We've had a very hot summer so far here which will probably mean a beautiful autumn. Sydney is usually about the same - perhaps a bit more humid. Bring long pants and a pullover for evenings.

Hi, I live in Melbourne and in March I think long trousers and a t-shirt plus a long sleeved top for the evenings would be the go. We may get some warm weather for shorts so bring them too. Weather should be mild to warm. Not too sure about Sydney, it is usually warmer there but they can get more rain. Probably wear the same thing in both places.
Hope this helps.
Kay

Beware of taking any weather advice too literally. We spent four days in Melbourne in March several years ago and it never stopped raining the whole time. In fact we were surprised it didn't turn to sleet as it was very, very cold. Everybody said it was very unusual, but the weather always seems to be unusual wherever and whenever we go.

Hi Irene,
Melbourne is generally mild in March but can be cool at night. Bring a mix of "light clothing", shorts for the day, jeans/slacks & sweater for the night. Make sure you drive along the Great Ocean Road for breathtaking scenery - pity you can't continue into South Australia for a truly worthwhile experience - sample us at "http:www.aussieassist.com"
If I can help further, email me via the site. Happy Landings & enjoy !!!
