Tuvalu Travel Report
 

Hi,

I recently (January 2018) spent time on the little-visited atoll nation of Tuvalu. Last year 2,500 visitors arrived at Funafuti International airport on one of the thrice weekly Fiji Airways flights from Suva (the only air connection to the outside world). About 50% of arrivals are on business (mostly aid/ NGO workers) and almost everyone else is a an overseas Tuvaluan returning home to visit family/ friends. Very few tourists make it to this remote corner of the Pacific (I didn't meet any during my 7 days there).

During my time I traveled around, visited the sights (very few), met and talked to lots of friendly locals, checked out accommodation, restaurant and transport options and took lots of photos.
