Trendwest Suites Sydney - any recent experiences or other Suite recos for Sydney?
 

We've extended our stay in Sydney later this month to 6 nights so would like a suite type of accommodation - the Trend West pricing is good and the area seems convenient (near the Central Train Station) - rates are under $200 AUD which is about our budget - any comments or other suggestions. Thanks

Yes I was pleased to see that today - is the area good do you know?

The area around Central Station is O.K., but don't expect any harbour views. It is convenient to China Town, Darling Harbour and the monorail which will take you around the city area. That rate seems reasonable for that area. Closer to the Harbour would cost a lot more. I have often stayed in Medina apartments www.medina.com.au but they may be too expensive for you. Their Medina Grand on Kent St. is in a good location.

Just a follow up to my original post - we're at the Trendwest Suites now and are very happy with the hotel.

We have a very large one bedroom suite that has been recently redecorated - great facilities in the room including high speed (for a charge)

There are apparently laundry facilities which I will check out as well.

There is construction underway now so the lower floors are noisy during the day but it should be done shortly.

Our rate is approx $170AU for a suite and I think it's about $25 less for a "studio". Location is great - walked to Darling Harbour, Opera House, etc (but we like walking.
