Trekking in New Zealand
I'm planning to spend Jan-Mar '99 in NZ. Want to go trekking. NO idea where to start, where to go, etc. Trying to get some info early. Any ideas? (I'm in early 20s and VERY adventurous)

Hi Melanie
There are just so many tracks that you can walk through out New Zealand. I have done a few and each time there have been more over seas tourists than New Zealanders on them. You can walk for a few days to a week or more depending on where you go. Most huts you have to pay a small amount to use them. You can email me direct and I will give you more information especially the ones in the South Island. Regards Christine |
Melanie. See if you can get into http://discovernz.co.nz/travelplanner/services.html or http://discovernz.co.nz/leisure/index.html or http://discovernz.co.nz/travel/direc.../toursatt.html. These last two may be within the first one. Hard to know when I go into them and I live here. Good luck. What I looked into seemed to cover most places. There are just so many for you to choose from.
