transfer services between Sydney Airport and hotels

Anyone have experience with any of the transfer services between the Sydney airport and hotels? Am looking at Sydney Airporter (KST Airporter?) and Sydney Airport Bus.
Have seen unfavorable comments on other sites. I'm wondering if a taxi would be a better option or if there are any other options?

We usually get a taxi - a bit more expensive but quicker and more convenient. There's also the train into the city.

A taxi is the best option, especially if there is more than one of you in your party, and/ or you're staying more than 5 mins walk from a railway station.

Sydney shuttles have a deservedly poor reputation.

We always take a taxi to/from the airport. For us the convenience is worth the cost.

For whatever reason, Sydney airport shuttles appear to be uniformly awful. Get a cab.

I seem to remember that we got the train straight from the station into Circle quay and it was a doddle. our hotel was within easy walking distance [once we worked out how to avoid the steps] and it was very convenient for returning to the airport too.

Am i dreaming it?

oops - i meant that we took it from the AIRPORT to circle quay.

You may well have taken a train from the airport to CIRCULAR QUAY, Annhig.

How convenient / cost effective that would be for others depends on
1) the number in their party
2) how much luggage they have
3) the distance from the train station to their hotel
4) the fitness levels of the people involved.

True, Bokhara, and thanks for the correction. Circular quay of course. but it hadn't been discussed by anyone else and as you say, we don't know how many are in the party, where their hotel is, etc.

Just my husband and I traveling. Hotel is on Wentworth Ave, Surry Hills. Planning on 1 bag and a backpack for each of us.

Will also be back in Sydney at the end of our trip and will be staying on Valentine St., Haymarket

I think one or both hotels may be near a train station?

Mbshrout: most hotel websites have a map.

Use that & the google map function to see the distance between the hotels & Central station.
You can then judge whether you want to walk.

I could do it if you advised the name of the Hotels - but it's a useful tool to know about & you can then make the judgement call.
