trains Sydney to Alice Springs
 

A number of travel agents have told us that the trains from Sydney to Alice Springs would be crowded with backpackers if we travel in the red kangaroo class. Does anyone know how crowded the trains would be in mid to late november? We want to travel by train, we like trains, and there is a good savings in using a railpass day/nighter over the higher classes. Do the seats recline well for some sleeping in the night time?
