Visit the botanic gardens and have luch at the Observatory cafe, take a trip to the top of the Rialto building. Wander through the cafe lined laneways. Take the city circle tram (it's free) and hop on and off. Take the ferry to Williamstown from Southbank for a day. Take a trip to the Dandenongs or Yarra Valley. Visit the new Federation Square and the new Australian art gallery there.

Do you have any particular interests??

What about Mornington Peninsula? And is it possible to see the Twelve Apostles by airplane in a one-day trip?

Mary Nov 11th, 2002 12:11 PM

Mornington Peninsula is great - try and visit Point Nepean (part of a National Park) and there are lots of lovely wineries and restaurants. If you wanted to make a big day of it (and had a car) you could take the ferry across from Sorrento to Queenscliff and then drive back via geelong. I'm not sure about 'flight-seeing' the 12 Apostles & Great Ocean Road coastline. Suggest you contact Victorian Tourism or you could try either Moorabbin or Essendon airport which have a number of small plane operators.
