Tevas or Reef Shoes

I know this is a bit of a lame question but would Tevas work for the water in the Cook Islands? Thinking I could avoid packing both but have never really tried snorkelling in Tevas!!

We brought our chacos (like Tevas) to Fiji. But won't you be wearing snorkeling fins while snorkeling? Our chacos worked fine otherwise.

Can't fit fins with our one bag each limit. We have snorkelled without fins before and don't find we miss them that much when snorkelling from the shore. Thanks for the help.
