Tasmania tours

Does anyone know of any good 2 day tours in Tasmania? I will be down in June and we were thinking of going there for two days. Also is it necessary to take a tour to Philip Island or can you just go in. Is it beneficial to take the tour?

Hi - can't recommend any I have done myself, having only been to Tassie once when I had loads of time!! But when I was thinking of taking a quick side trip from MLB early this year I found this lot who may or may not be of interest.

Tassie is lovely but two days is not much - you could easily spend it all in Hobart and surrounds, or maybe one day in Hobart and trip out to Mt Field NP.

Sort of depends on your interests too.

Cheers.

Two days in Tasmania isn't a lot of time, but I would definitely make sure to visit Port Arthur. It was an absolutely fascinating place.

Hi Lyndamcn,

Only 2 days in Tasmania? That's really sad, you could go for a week or ten days and still have lots leftover to see!

With only 2 days you're either going to have to fly in/out of Launceston or Hobart and need to concentrate sightseeing in those areas.

You don't really mention what your interests are, or why you want to go to Tasmania (animal viewing, historical, nature, history, etc), so it's difficult to advise you on where to go / what to see and do!

I have to agree with fuzzylogic's recommendation of Mt Field NP - it was one of my favourite places in Tassie.
