Tasmania & Kangaroo Island in September
My husband & I are going to Australia in Sept. Our agenda
includes Tasmania & Kangaroo Island. Any info on the climate/weather & must sees in either of these places is appreciated. We also welcome any other hints/info on Adelaide or Cape Tribulation. Ta! |
Christine - I'm also going to Tasmania late Sept. If you look in the web site on Tasmania you'll find, as I have, a lot of information, plus a map that you can make up for driving around the country. It gives you the distance, time needed and points of interest. Be sure to get to Bischeno on the Eastern coast. Lots of luck and happy traveling.

Christine - When in Adelaide, make sure you go out to the Barossa Valley and the Adelaide Hills. It's full of history and German culture, who originally settled the area. Lots of winerys. Hahndorf is a must see. There are plenty of tour that will take you out there, if you don't have your own transportation.

Eleanore.. Sorry for the delay but I forgot I posted on this site. Thank you for the advice. We will have the opportunity to drive quite a bit while we're in Tassy, we start in Hobart & end up in Launceston. If you hear of anything else that's a must see please let me know. Thanks again & Happy traveling!

Hi Christine - We went to Tassy last year and Adelaide the year before. Port Arthur is a must-see. Fascinating historical site - set aside an entire day to wander all over it. It's amazing. Richmond, another historical area. East coast rather like North Island of NZ and west coast like the south Island, especially around their town of Queenstown. Very chilly though. We were there in January and were quite cold at Port Arthur. Warmer further up. Adelaide - gorgeous. If driving, go by the coast road. Barossa valley very interesting, also Hahnsdorf, Gumeracha with giant rocking horse.
Know you'll love it all. |
