Sydney Theater

We will be in Sydney June 22-26, 2010, and would like to take in a show or other entertainment/theater event. Much like in NYC and London, we were able to locate the theater district's official last minute box office. Is there such a kiosk in Sydney that offers a consolidated way to choose a ticket/show for the night? Mostly, we're interested in theater, but do not want to book in advance.

Here's a website that sells last minute tickets to theatre:

Whoops hit the button too early, to continue:

The studio at the Opera House is a venue for cheaper more experimental theatre and music. If cost is a determining factor for you.

Thank you Susan7...I too found that website while Googling last minute tickets, but I'm hoping there might be an actual ticket consolidator booth somewhere downtown Sydney near the theater? Any ideas as to wether such a box exists like NYC or London?

I don't think so, maybe it's because the theatres are quite spread out. There isn't a theatre district in the same way as London or New York. The Opera House is one end of town, Sydney Theatre company is at the wharf (another part of town), then there are ones near Central and in inner city suburbs, like Belvoir St Theatre in Surry Hills, Parade Theatre at Kensington. I'll ask around for you.

There used to be a "half tix" booth in Martin Place, but I don't think it's there now. There's a half-tix online site, but have a feeling it's only active for Melbourne at the moment.

Okay...thank you for checking. I think our best bet will be to order online the day we're interested and pick up at will-call or if we're near the theater of choice, we'll just pop up to the window and purchase on site. Thanks again!
