Sydney taxi driver-USD or credit card

Do Sydney taxi's at the airport take USD or credit cards, or should I exchange at ATM before exiting terminal?

Thanks.

I'd hit the ATM, P67742.

U$ aren't legal tender in Australia and it's not one of those places where they are welcomed despite that.

Don't know about whether cabs take c/cards in Sydney but you'll need some Aus $ anyway, so you might as well get some at the airport.

Stop at an ATM and pay in local currency. There are few places in the world where US dollars would be an acceptable substitute.

Thanks. Will do!

Use your credit card or get some AUD
at an airport ATM.

All taxis take credit cards. In Sydney cabs, there is a 5% surcharge to use cards.

USD is not legal tender in Australia.

Just be aware of DCC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic...ncy_conversion

If the screen shows a converted USD amount, you can decline that to ensure that the transaction is processed in AUD (to be converted to USD by your own bank).

Why would an Aussie cabbie accept your US dollars? An American cabbie would call the cops on you if you tried to pay him in Aussie dollars.

Withdraw at the atm.
