I am leaving for Australia in about 10 days. I am wanting to do a dinner cruise with Captain Cook Cruises...has anyone been on one before?? And what can you tell me about the dress code if you have been on one??

Also do you know where some scrapbooking stores are in Sydney?? I am thinking I could get some unique supplies while there that I cannot get in the states.

I haven't been on a dinner cruise, but I would guess the dress code is smart casual.

What's scrapbooking?

Scrapbooking is where you take your pictures and you can crop them and you add papers and other embelishments to a page and put them in a book. You can journal or write something about the pictures or just let the pictures tell a story. It's a way to show your photos other than just putting them in a photo album.

What is your definition of 'smart casual'??

Smart casual I think of as what you would wear to a restaurant. It's probably easier to define negatively: no shorts, no thongs (flip-flops), preferably none of those outdoorsy walking clothes tourists seem to favour. Although, I doubt they would ever throw you out if you wore any of these things; it's more about fitting in, feeling appropriately dressed. Mind you, as it is likely to be full of tourists, perhaps those hiking clothes are the norm!

There's quite a lot of paper and stationary shops in Sydney. I'm not sure if they would be suitable for the activity you describe. Like this one Kiki K: http://www.kikki-k.com/

I would try Eckersley's - they aren't specifically a scrapbooking shop but an art and craft shop. They have high-end origami paper and most of the supplies you would need for scrapbooking.

They are a chain and there is also a branch in Westfield Bondi Junction.

Otherwise you might find some specialist shops in other (outlying) suburbs but I would think the travelling there would be prohibitive.

I've never done one and have never felt tempted to do so. If you want to see Sydney harbour, take the ferry to Manly (far cheaper). I've no idea what the food on a dinner cruise is like but my knee-jerk, admittedly uninformed view is that it's likely to be mediocre and overpriced. There are plenty of good restaurants in Sydney for dinner and the Manly ferry (30 minutes, $6.60 each way) gives you a pretty good view of Sydney from the water.

Try the Lincraft store in the city. 68 York Street, Sydney. The usually have a section on scrapbooking. Most of the big scrapbook stores are in the suburbs. I think you won't find anything here that you can't get in the States plus it's probably also more expensive here.
Captain Cook cruises are quite pleasant (have been to one years ago), Sydney is pretty casual. I've seen short-wearers to Opera House concerts.
