Sydney in May

What should we pack for a week in Sydney in early May. It seems like the weather could be anything. This is making decision making difficult. Thanks.

We were in Sydney last May and had lovely weather. We dressed in layers...gortex jacket, fleece vest, and long sleeve shirts.
Enjoy!

By May it's usually getting colder, but it is still Autumn/Fall. April is very erratic, as no doubt you will have seen if you have been following the Sydney temperatures recently.

In terms of packing you definately won't need an overcoat, or thick jumpers, or thick wooly skirts etc. and you probably won't need shorts or lots of short-sleeved T-shirts or singlets, unless you intend going bush walking/hiking. Maybe pack one or two T-shirts just in case there's another warm patch.

On cold days (if we get any) the most you would need is two layers i.e. a thin to medium weight jumper/sweater and a jacket. It's not that cold at the moment: it's thin jumper weather, if that, and it's raining.

Australia is generally warm the year round, though I suggest you pack at least a few clothes to keep warm/dry in. Better safe than sorry as they say.

It has been fantastic until about 12 hours ago. Now the temp has dropped and we have wind a bit of rain.
