Is $196.00 to go from Sydney to Cairns a good deal or will we see lower costs. This is next March.

Is that return, and in AU$?

It would be really helpful if you specified which sort of $$ we are talking about. If it's AUD and return it's too good to be true. If it's USD and return it's the best I've ever seen.

So please say, and also which airline are you getting this price from?

If you've found Sydney-Cairns for AUD 196, grab it. The bus costs more than that and it takes about 3 days. This is a 2,500km flight.

I would suggest you also look at Jetstar - as their fares are usually the cheapest for that route - we have $AU151.00 Cairns to Sydney in September for instance.

Yes, I have seen cheaper fares now but only through September 2006. I suppose there will be sales later this year going though April 2007 so it would cover our trip.

Try virgin Blue as well for rates. Jetstar and Virgin are usually cheaper than Quantas.
