Suggestions needed for wine tour from Sydney

Hi, my husband and I would like to take a day trip to the Hunter Valley for some serious wine tasting and nice lunch. We are wine producers in Italy so we'd prefer a more personalised tour without the wine making explanations etc. For obvious reasons we don't want to drive though this would have been our preferred option. Does anyone have suggestions for small personalised tours? Thanks!

Sorry forgot to mention that we will be in Sydney in early April. Will this be busy grape picking time?

You might be looking for a company like http://www.divinetours.com.au/
and http://www.totaltravel.com.au/travel...tours-bookings lists many more but only a few have Sydney pick-ups and you'll obviously be paying for that and if you decide on just a tour for you both as against being in a small group.

I think you could find that grape picking will be mostly over as our climate has much more sunshine and warmth than most if not all of Europe and thus ripening/picking takes place mainly in summer.

Of the small wineries, Margan, Ivanhoe, Talavera Grove and Emma's Cottage are my favourites. The fourth is particularly 'boutique'.
