Suggestions for 7 day in NZ end of Oct/first-timer

Looking for must see/must do recommendations for 50 year old first-timers visiting NZ end of October/early November. On ground for 7 days. Flying in/out of Auckland. Impulsively purchased and now starting to research. :) If you have any itineraries, please point me to them. Thanks in advance!
