South Island - 7 days
 

I’ll be visiting family in Melbourne next April and planning a week on the South Island in NZ. I know I can’t see it all in such a short time, so am looking at 3 nights each in Te Anau and Aoraki Mt. Cook Village. My primary interests are day hiking, wildlife and mountain/fiord scenery. Flying in and out of Queenstown, do these sound like good base camps? Other recommended options?
