A) exactly what "region" are you referring to...Australia and NZ, the Pacific? It's a mighty big area!

B) Why would you think it's "unsafe"- what do you mean - political unrest?drinking water? non American values?

If it's Tahiti and French Polynesia you mean, these are semi autonomous regions of France - hardly a maelstrom of instability.

It's a laid back area with a very low crime rate.(Hawaii?)


If in doubt...drink bottled water, have up to date travel insurance and do some research on your own country's travel advisory/warning sites.

If you're worried about travelling there maybe you shouldn't leave home.

If you want sensible answers you must pose a sensible question.

Nothing at all sarcastic in my response, Thomas, but really the question needs clarifying a great deal. Just what is "safe", for a start. And conpared to what? And where is the region?

I stand by my advice, check travel warnings, do some research, have good insurance and drink bottled water...but if the poster genuinely thinks this is a Third world region, which seems implicit in the question it might be much "safer" to stay home!

Excuuuse me, I meant political unrest in the Tahitit, Bora Bora, Moorea, and Rangiroa regions.
