rushcutters harbourside hotel,sydney

has anyone stayed at this hotel?we are thinking of going in feb.what is the location like and is it still convenient enough for city sights etc?

Mike, I haven's stayed at this hotel, but I remember someone writing to this forum a few months ago who was coming from New Zealand and who got such an amazing deal with air fare and accommodation at this hotel that the final advice was that the price justified the less-than-perfect location. It is quite a ways out of the city, and you will need to either get a bus or walk to Kings Cross Station. Quite a pleasant area, however, and (as you will guess from the name) close to some quiet water. But if the price doesn't dictate the choice, I think you could do far better by coming a bit closer in.... there is a lot to choose from.

Hi Mike:

I actually live very close to this hotel (about 500 metres away), and I can tell you that it is a fantastic location. It is situated on one of the main bus routes and as mentioned in the previous post, is close to a train station. It is practically on the water, next to a park, and it wouldn't take you more than 5 mins to take a cab (if you had to one night) from the city back to this hotel.
I think that it is a fantastic location for a tourist. If you can afford it, I say go for it!

have a great trip.
Regards,
Jade

Alan, I think you will find that the Hotel which was the subject of that earlier post was a different one than the Harbourside - the name escapes me, but it was further up the hill in Mona Road Darling.
The Harbourside would be far superior - although still quite a hike up hill to the train station. The Bus Stop is convenient though as the previous poster stated.

Sorry, that should read - Mona Road, Darling Point.

Yes, I think maybe you're right, Pru... thanks for the correction, and sorry if I misinformed anyone.
