reservations in sydney

how does one go about making reservations in sydney for restaurants. I would like to eat at tsyuas one night and 41 the other night. we will be in sydney on Monday May26th and Tuesday May27th. Are these restaurants open on monday nights and when do you think we should make the reservations and how do we get in touch with them to make them. thanks Bruce

Bruce

In Australia we generally just telephone the restaurants. I have never used an on-line booking agent or email but it probably can be done. You could get the hotel at which you are staying to make the booking. You can get phone numbers for all Australian businesses from www.whitepages.com.au or www.yellowpages.com.au. The whitepages is for residential and business numbers and the yellow pages is just business numbers. Tetsuya's is not open on Monday nights, I have never been to 41 so I can't say. The electronic yellow pages will include a web site or email address if the company has listed one. You will enjoy eating in Sydney, esp. Tetsuya's.

Hi, Bruce!
I just typed the names into google, and got several websites which will show you addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, etc.
For Tetsuya's, look at www.foodtourist.com/FTGuide/Content/197.htm.
For Forty-One, look at www.dine-online.co.uk/41.htm.
For both, and a whole lot more besides, check www.sallys-place.com/food/dining_directory/oceania/sydney.htm
Lynn is quite correct about Tetsuya's not operating on Monday night, but I didn't see the same restriction in the info on Forty-One, so I guess that solves the problem of which one to visit first!

For Tetsuya's you need to make reservations well in advance, I believe you need to call exactly six weeks to the day before you want your reservation. The number is 612 9267 2900.

We just got back from Sydney 2 days ago and we dined at both Tetsuya's & 41. Both were wonderful! We made reservations for Tetsuya's about 4 weeks in advance and the weekend was completely booked so we settled for a Wednesday night. Also dined at 41 (which is actually of the 42nd floor) on a Monday night - excellent views! We made reservations also 3-4 weeks ahead of time and they were pretty open - the only reason we picked Monday was because we wanted to have dinner on our last night in Sydney.
I would suggest getting a calling card (I assume you are calling from the US?)
Phone number for Forty One:
61 2 2221 2500
