Rental car or not on Moorea?
 

We are doing a Windstar cruise in March & will be staying 3 extra nights on Moorea afterwards. We spent our 25th anniversary there a bit over 25 years ago. We will be staying at Hotel Les Tipaniers which is about 45 minutes from the ferry. It appears a taxi would be $45 so wondering if we should rent a car. If so, which company have people had luck with? When you book online there always seems to be a huge discrepancy of add ons once you get there so thinking a local company would be better. Or do they have a bus system by now. Looking forward to reconnecting with the beautiful island.

We rented from Albert Transport in February. The car we got was older but fine and less expensive than Avis.

I stayed at Les Tipaniers many years ago and just caught the public bus from the ferry. Their website says you can still do so:

That is very helpful. Thank you. We would like to rent a car for at least a day to tour the island but the rest of the time we really need to relax & enjoy our surroundings.
