Rental car in Oz questions

I am looking to rent a car in Mackay and drop it in Cairns. Does anyone know a good company to use? Since we would only be driving in Queensland, a Queensland company would be good. We would want one with a low or non-existant drop charge. The one site I went to (Avis) wanted a set sum plus 25c/km. Wow, that would add up! Another linguistic question--in the US the 25c charge is called "milage" charge, but in Australia, is there another term with kilometers? Thanks!

www.drivenow.com.au
Try this. They help you to a good deal. With this organisation I have just arranged for a one way car rental from ADL to SYD at very reasonable rates. They help you compare among the various deals from the main car rental companies

I like to use driveaway.com.au and have found their rates to be very competitive. I have never paid a per kilometre rate just a daily rate.

cram and stormbird, thank you for taking the time to answer. I loved the comparison chart on drivenow. Stormbird, your link didn't work--do you think you were thinking of drivenow? The prices quoted were less than I got with my Avis wizard number, so thanks again.

Hi SnRSeattle,
No the link is driveaway.com.au - the 'au' part for some reason is not highlighting. Pop in the .au at the end and give them a go and see if they compare.
