Relocating to Australia

I live in New York City and I'm thinking of leaving the States and living abroad. I'm considering Australia. I am going to need a job and place to live. I currently work in the IT industry. Can someone point me in the right directions as far as where to look for this information? Also if someone can let me know which cities or towns to consider, I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks.
Great place to live Gerard. I live in Brisbane Queensland. Brisbane is about half way up the eastern coast, and is a city of approximately 900,000 people and growing constantly. The south eastern corner of Queensland is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia, many southerners come north to live, inlcluding us we came north 19 years ago. Our climate is sub tropical and about 1 hour flight from Sydney and 2 hour from Melbourne. Probably the newspaper to look for would be "The Australian" - it circulates throughout Australia. Queensland has The Courier Mail. Write me and I will see if I can locate email addresses etc - any other specifics? I am afraid I know little at IT. Denise
