Queenstown vs Rotorua

Queenstown bills itself as the adventure capitol of NZ. But it looks to me like Rotorua has as much to offer. Any input that you could offer to help me decide which is better would be appreciated. Also, if one place offers something adventurous that the other doesn't, I would like to know that as well.

Thank you,

Haven't been to Rotorua in years and don't remember it being anything like Queenstown adventure-wise, but things change. Here's a listing of adventure activities for both so you can compare:

Rotorua offers zorbing; not sure if QT does.

I guess it depends on how adventurous you are. Queenstown did have a bunch of extreme type activities. I did the hang gliding off of Coronet Peak. It was fantastic! Depending on what time you go, you can go skiing or snowboarding, but their slopes are for more experienced skiiers. They also had the parasailing of the mountain, mountian biking and I believe a high speed boat that goes on a river.

I don't remember Rotorua having much for adventure. There was a ton to see and do but not really adventure type activities. Although maybe that has changed since we went.

Both places were very lovely to visit!
