Queenstown to Greysmouth transportation

We need to travel from Queenstown to Greysmouth and don't want to fly or rent a car. Anyone know of a private driving service to hire for that route? I also posted an enquiry about Atomic Travel Company as they also have buses that do that route. Anyone know anything about the quality of their buses? Thanks.

Hi Jamie
My hubby and I used Intercity buses from Queenstown through the glaciers and up to Greymouth. They have a website www.intercitycoach.co.nz They may be what you're looking for and I believe they're what the tour groups use when they don't have a full tour. They will pick you up at your hotel and take you to your hotel or train station. They were informative drivers who talked of the sights as we drove along. There were some backpackers but there were also a number of 50-ish to 70-ish folks along too. Hope this helps - it is a looooong ride.

Ellen,

Thanks for the information. I had looked at their site and they don't seem to have a bus that does that route in one day. It looks like the bus goes from Queenstown to the Glaciers and then a different bus goes from the Glaciers to Greysmouth and, unfortunatley, they don't seem to connect.
Jamie

If you look at a Greyhound bus from the USA and use that as a yard stick, then any bus in Australia, NZ or Katmandu is 100% better.
