Pudding cups in New Zealand
My wife needs something like Snack Pack butterscotch pudding to push her pills down. I have search on line and have not found anything like what she needs. In the US she uses butterscotch pudding. See this website http://www.snackpack.com/pudding
The substance has to be semi-solid. She put the pill in the pudding and then swallows it with a drink of water mixed with Thicken Up. She cannot swallow regular water. Is there anything in New Zealand grocery stores that can be substituted for it? It cannot be chocolate or have citrus in it. Anything that pours will not work. If you tip the container over and the substance flows out it is too thin. Thanks for any help we can get. |
what about set yoghurt? That is probably available in NZ.

That looks like what's called 'dairy food'. It's with the yoghurt in the supermarket. Brands are Anchor, Yoplait...usually cartoon characters on them... Don't know that we're big on butterscotch as a flavour though... |

Consistency might be wrong though.
Greek yogurt? |
Caramel would be similar?
That dairy food stuff you can stand a spoon up in. The custard...not so much. Actually I think you can get a custard dairy food! Anyway you'll find dairy food in every supermarket - including the small 'four square' branded ones. |
You might like to look up the different meanings of the word pudding - I am not culinarily qualified but this website does a pretty good job. Then you will know what to ask for and what to expect when talking about "pudding" in NZ:
