Port Douglas Temperature in early December?

Greetings, we will be in Port Douglas December 6 through the 10. Just wondering about the weather report?

sunswhtdog - probably about the same as it is in Cairns today - maximum 32C, min about 22C (at night). Accurate weather forecasts are available only about 3 days out. SE Queensland recently hit by torrential flooding rain, which hopefully has broken the drought and put out the bushfires. So far, very little rain here in Far North Queensland, but could change any day.

Thanks Bunches for the info. Heard about the flooding. So sad. Hope the weather gets better for them.

I was int Cairnes 3 years ago for New Year's. It was about 85-90 degrees everyday, but the humidity is extremely high. I live in Chicago and was not really prepared for how humid it gets there. However, Port Douglas is gorgeous and the rain forest and Great Barrier reef were our favorite parts of our Australia trip.

Yes, indeed, it will be humid as coastal monsoon-affected tropical areas are in build up to wet season. In fact the humidity is on the rise now, although so far no rain. December is the most colourful month, with all the tropical trees in full bloom. Street plantings of brilliant red poincianas are coming out now, frangipanis of many colours, vibrant pinks and yellows of cassia, bougainvillea and much more. Trees are loaded with mangos - there's at least 1000 on a mango tree I can see whilst typing this and my lychee tree is covered in fruit. Too high to reach, the fruit bats and lorikeets will get it, drat it.
