Plz help with sydney and Melbourne hotels
 

We are looking for a hotel close to shopping and resturants. In Melbourne it is between the westin and the Langham hotel? In sydney it is between the westin and the sheraton on the park? Which of the 2 in each city is closer to my needs?

Assuming you mean CBD shopping & restaurants from your hotel choices:

Sydney: Either.
Melbourne: Westin.

The Westin (in Melbourne) is of course closer to shopping on Collins St. with a short walk to Bourke St. and Melbourne Central. The Langham is closer to all the restaurants at Southbank (you're there) and the Casino. The walk from the Langham to Collins, Bourke St. etc. would take about 3 mins. more. They are both great hotels in wonderful locations, but the Langham would be my pick.

The Westin is closest to prestige designer shops ( Chanel is underneath it ) and most of the big names are in Collins Street up from the Westin .This city locale is easy in terms of other stores as well or going to other areas where fashion is prevalent eg Chapel Street . So do the Westin .
