Perth in April
I am thinking of taking a two week holiday in mid-April to Perth and the surrounding regions. Could anyone tell me what the weather would be like at this time of year. Is there any likelyhood of rain? I understand this time of year is early autumn?

My husband, who has been to Perth several times, just LOVES it. I've been to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns, but not Perth.
According to an Internet search, average maximum temperature in April is 25 deg C (I "visualize" temperatures in Celsius, but I think that's roughly mid 70s in Farenheit.) Average minimum temperature in April is 12 deg C (about 50 deg F, I'm guessing). Average rainfall for April is 46 mm (1.8"). Average number of days that it rains in April is 8. |
Thanks Judy, 8 days rain out of 30 sounds quite a lot. Can anyone advise the duration of the train journey from Perth to Kalgoorlie?

Dear anna_h,
I have never done the trip from Perth to Kalgoorlie, but on the website www.transwa.wa.gov.au it shows that it takes 8 hours. The train is called 'Prospector' and the cost is $59.50 one way (adult fare). Have an excellent time in Australia. |
Oops.. just assumed you were from another country, so please let me rephrase - 'Have an excellent time in Kalgoorlie'.

Rain in perth ususally isn't a big deal (unless you want to sit on the beach). Its usually in the passing showers category with occasional torrential downpours. I lived there for 5 years and apart from ocasionally getting caught between the train and home never worried too much about rain.
