Opal card?
 

Hello,

We are going to be in Sydney next week. Family of 4 here, rugrats are age 7 and 8. We have 6 days, the itinerary looks something like this. We like walking, kids are excellent long distance walkers.

day 1 - arriving at lunch, probably just walking around a bit around hotel and relax.
day 2 - Taronga Zoo and CQ
day 3 - Bondi & bondi to coogee walk
day 4 - Blue mountains
day 5 - Watsons Bay, manly? chinatown
day 6 - leaving at lunch time.

apart from the ferries to taronga (which i plan to get a zoo pass, can i get this pass at the ferry terminal or do i have to pay for the ferry to get to the zoo first then get the pass from there?) & watsons bay. I dont see us getting on the bus except to Bondi? Worth it to get an opal card? we are taking a taxi from/to airport since there's 4 of us.

You need one each - no sharing!

What exactly are you doing? Are you buying ENTRANCE TICKETS to Taronga or are you buying an annual Pass or a ZooPass? The ZooPass is available at Circular Quay.

We opted out of Taronga because it's bloody expensive and went to a wildlife park not far away. There are tons in the area.

I'm not aware of "tons" of wildlife park in the area.

There's the Zoo - way out in front - and then there's a wildlife place in Darling Harbour, which is very "second division".

It depends on what you want to see. If native animals only, consider Featherdale, at Doonside.

Taronga Zoo is an outstanding experience, in a spectacular setting.

Taronga Zoo is also way different from any zoo I've visited in USA, Canada or Europe. The only animals housed indoors are the nocturnals and platypus, and you'll see far more animals here than at any of the other wildlife places in the area.

It would be worth weighing up the cost against the fact that your family could easily spend the best part of a full day there . . . the fabulous views of Sydney Harbour are an unexpected bonus! Di

Hello everyone i talking about is tour and trip. i planned 2 cities trip. and full enjoy of fun. basically i am from Australia and some people says that you book car on rent of full size or 7 seater and he says best way for tour with family but those modern cars reservation and registration extra charges. so i not accepted this opinion.

If you have any idea Australia cities trip good way, then i request send me details or informations.

I can't work out what your question is - and it doesn't belong on this thread concerning Opal Card.

Perhaps re-phrase your issue and submit it as a new question.

Taronga is bloody expensive but i know it will be a fab experience for our kids. And yes, a zoo pass, not annual pass. I think i may opt for a ferry pass instead of opal card.

But whats problem in Taronga. Why you called blood taronga and bloody experience ?

There is no problem with Taronga, except that the entrance fee is quite expensive.

"Bloody"'is a colloquialism of emphasis in Australia. In this context, it means "rather /very".
