NZ Intra Island Airfare
Hi everyone, just a quick check, I am trying to book a flight from Auckland to Christchurch on 2/15/07 (afternoon) and from Queenstown back to Auckland on 2/28/07 (morning). The airfare I got from Qantas and Air NZ are about NZ$250/pp one way (for th, does that sound reasonable? Thanks in advance!

It is about standard unfortunately.
But I just looked at www.airnz.co.nz and there are Smart Saver fares for $99 still available from Akl - Chc. They are use it or lose it fares but saves a bit of money.
I imagine there are cheaper fares Queenstown to Auckland too.
I have never tried to book online here without a NZ credit card though!

Hi wilees, thanks for the response. I just want to make sure that I am not missing anything. Actually I was able to purchase one ticket from Queenstown to Auckland for NZ$129, but only one ticket was available at that price yesterday, it cost NZ$226 for the same flight for the second ticket. I just checked today, and the NZ$129 price is available again, which I grabbed right away. BTW, I was able to use a foreign credit card to purchase tickets online without any problems. On the contact phone column, there is a box for country code, therefore, I assume the fares apply to foreigners as well. I also read the fine prints, nowhere does it say that the fare only applies to residents, I also received the PDF e-ticket right away. I will wait for a couple more days to see if cheaper fares are available from Auckland to CHC. Thanks a lot!
