NZ, help with planning

i have only 10 days for NZ, i know it is not much but i want advise on where to go. I am more interested in coast than mountains, but i dont want to miss something really nice. Please advise on where to go and how to split my time, i am flying in Christchurch and will take an internal flight to Auckland from where i will depart. When i take the internal flight is up to me. Thanx

On the south Island, I'd get to Queenstown, Milford Sound and Franz Josef. We enjoyed the area around Punakaiki, and the coastline between Christchurch and Blenheim is beautiful.

On the north island, we enjoyed the Corrumandel area, and also Napier, both having coastal views.

You should plan to go to Rotorua in the North Island. It is truly unique. It can be done in a day from Auckland although it would probably be better to stay over night.Good luck.

I agree with Rotorua - the drive from Auckland is beautiful and a wonderful part of the trip. We also loved Auckland - neat Harbor, neat casino, great restaurants, wonderful people. I don't think there is actually a bad place in NZ...........................

Thanks Debi, you are welcome any time, have a look at www.purenz.com, it is the tourist Board site and really one of the best for info and to get ideas on what might interest you the most. Then you can decide how to split your time.
