NQ Rentals - Camper van
Had a really lovely holiday in Australia during July and August. However it is currently being marred by NQ.Rentals.
2 Months on, they still have our bond money for the rental of our camper van. $2000 !! They continually come up with excuses, like they are having problems with their systems. Or they promise to pay it back into our bank account in 24 hours (that was 10 days ago). Of course they never phone back after promising to do so and if you e-mail, you get "it's not my fault " from the person receiving the e-mail. Anybody else expereincing problems with them? Hope you can help! |
We rented from NQ, but had no problem getting a deposit returned.
This situation sounds unacceptable, but I am not sure how to proceed to induce them to get you your money immediately. |
Katie, Hope you get your deposit back soon. I think they will probably have some sort of government department that monitors this type of thing so after a bit more time if you haven't got your money back write to Queensland tourism and ask for advice on what to do next. |
Thank you Jane for the advice!! I will try the Queensland toursit board and see if they know what steps to take.
Glad to hear you had your' money back Alf. Wish they would give me back mine. |
Katiekoko:
We too are having problems with NQ Rentals. Instead of the bond though, it's a refund from a bad rental and a canceled contract. If you want to start any action, contact the director, Neil Chapman. His email address is: [email protected] That seems to be one of the only ways to get a response period. I've also started sending emails to their Office of Fair Trade and several tourism offices and websites advertising their services. Good luck on getting your money back. ET |
Well katiekoko. We got most of the money that they owed us today. It took a bit of work but we got it.
Some of the tactics used were: contacted the Office of Fair Trade in Brisbane and Cairns; contacted all of the websites that listed NQ Rentals; contacted tourism boards and agencies; contacted the director Neil Chapman. Not sure which action spurred them on, so if the money is still owed to you, you may need to try all of them. Good luck |
One year later, we have exactly the same story as Katiekoko. After more than a month, NQ Rentals doesn't pay our bond money back. Their excuse: a databasecrash. And no answer to our e-mails.
Thanks ET, we'll do the same! |
