Noosa to Armidale driving trip

We will be driving from Noosa to Armidale to stay there 2 nights with
friends, then drive over to Broadbeach. I figure it will be 7 hr.
drive to Armidale and then about 5 1/2 hr. drive to Broadbeach.
Correct? Can anyone recommend stops along each way to break up the
drives? We have 2 kids with us. Also what are the best routes?
(also, nervous about driving on the left!).Thanks

Don't worry about driving on the left in Queensland because no-one here worries where they drive in the road anyway and you will be in good company whichever side you choose!!
Drive from Noosa down to Beerwah and go through Kilcoy through to Toowoomba ( good stopping place for a cuppa. Then drive south direct to Armidale.
From Armidale you can drive east to Dorrigo then turn north and head for Grafton and directly north then to Broadbeach. The latter route should take you through some really nice countryside. Alternatively you can come up the New England Highway and go east at Tenterfield through to Casino then up to the GC. Going down from Noosa you could also stop in Stanthorpe and get some really nice wines! I think I would add about 1 hour or so on each of your estimates in time though.

I would think your driving time estimates are too low. Apart from around brisbane there is nothing approximating an interstate.

I would

rent an automatic car.

get out on the freeway south from noosa and get in the left hand lane and stick there till you get to the tweed river in nsw.get off highway 1 at chinderah and follow the tweed river up past murwillumbah to mt warning.A lovely drive.maybe even climb warning..then proceed to nimbin and lismore,Go lismore-tenterfield then south on the new england highway to armidale.

Return via the waterfall way...armidale,dorrigo,dorrigo national park, bellingen, coffs, byron, gold coast.

Thanks for the replies. We have decided not to do the drive to Armidale, and stay on the Sunshine and Gold coast. I just hope we are missing anything interesting by not doing the drive.
